Far Too Easily Pleased

It's been awhile since my last post. I don't know about you, but for me, there are distinct times of listening and others of speaking... after listening.

This excerpt from the The Weight of Glory has stuck with me for the past 5 years and often rises from the depths of memory at the most relevant of times ... definitely not a coincidence. However, It would be of value to keep it, out of the depths, in the forefront at all times.

~

Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that Our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased
~ Cs Lewis

I'll let it speak for itself, as it constantly speaks to me.
